So here I am in the Kriterion waiting for the Holland-Portugal match. I have decided to support my host country and cheer with all the cloggies. I should have brought my orange clothes that I wore during Queen's Day. I suspect this will be an interesting match cuz Holland and Portugal seem to be in my mind evenly matched.

The Mexico-Argentina match was really cool yesterday. Even though Mexico did not win in the end, I am proud of how they played. They did very well, they played fast and they had a good control of the ball. Argentina's last goal was really amazing. The ball hadn't even hit the ground, the guy hit the ball with his left foot and managed to shoot at the goal at what would seem to be a very difficult angle.

The Sweden-Germany match was painful to watch. The Swedish defense was absolutely horrible! There were about 25 shots at the goal by the German team! Fortunately, the Swedish goalie was on his toes and stopped most of those shots, otherwise the score would have been a lot worse and a lot more embarrassing for Sweden.

The England-Ecuador match we watched a couple of hours ago also here at the Kriterion was ok, but it seemed a bit slow paced. Beckham made a nice shot right over a wall of Ecuadoranian players, which led them to victory. However, I honestly felt victory could have easily gone either way. Ecuador was very close to scoring a number of times.
